Auxiliaries are indispensable components in paint, diluent is also one of the auxiliaries. The common auxiliaries in epoxy floor paint are dispersant, defoamer, leveling agent, rheological agent, as well as anti-static, anti-skid, extinction and other functional auxiliaries. The common drawbacks of epoxy floor paint are shrinkage, pinholes, orange peel, loss of light, shrinkage and laughter, blooming and floating due to poor dispersion, uneven color, uneven surface due to non-leveling and so on. These problems often need proper auxiliaries to eliminate them.
In floor paint, improper use of defoamer will lead to shrinkage, shrinkage, fisheye, pinhole, orange peel, loss of light, shrinkage and laughter defects, seriously affecting the appearance and performance of the film.
For floor paint, leveling of epoxy floor paint is a very important performance index. If the levelness of floor paint is not good, the surface of the film is not uniform, there are obvious brush marks, shrinkage, pinholes and other defects in the drying process, damage its protection and aesthetic performance. The epoxy floor paint and polyurethane floor paint are more prone to produce such defects. The leveling property is greatly related to the solvents in the system. When the leveling property is poor, the solvents with high boiling point can be properly added to improve the leveling property.
The amount of thinner in floor paint is generally 5% to 15%, and should not exceed 20% of the weight of floor paint. If more than 20%, will make the floor paint too thin (viscosity is too small), easy to produce flowing paint, exposed defects. Because the paint film of floor paint will reduce the performance of floor paint film.
