The damage factors and conditions of refractory bricks used in hot blast stoves vary with the structural form and characteristics of hot blast stoves and the use environment. The damages of refractory bricks used in hot blast stoves are as follows: general internal combustion hot blast stoves are most likely to crack and short circuit in the partition wall, crack and collapse in the vault, and masonry in the vault of two chambers and its nozzles of external combustion hot blast stoves are prone to crack and fall off; top combustion hot blast stoves are mainly damaged at the vault top. And vault and nozzle mouth. There are many factors causing the destruction of hot blast stove, and the main reasons are different in different parts of hot blast stove. Therefore, it is very complicated to analyse the failure causes and mechanism of refractory masonry in detail, which can be summarized as follows.
(1) high temperature thermal stress
The temperature difference between inner and outer surface of refractory bricks of hot blast stove wall is very large, which results in great thermal stress, that is, the inner side of brick lining is subjected to great compressive stress and the outer side is subjected to great tensile stress. Moreover, the expansion force and loading gravity of refractory masonry mainly concentrate on the inner surface of the brick lining of the hot blast stove, and the change of temperature and cold on the inner surface of the brick lining is aggravated by the furnace changing operation. Under the action of these factors, the inner surface of refractory masonry cracks firstly, and then loosen and fall off. In serious cases, the vault collapses and partition walls collapse.
(2) chemical erosion.
The surrounding medium of refractory masonry of hot blast stove mainly contains alkaline oxides, alkali metals and silicates in gas dust, which forms low melting point substances with refractory masonry components at high temperature and generates phase transformation, which results in the destruction of refractory brick structure and the decrease of high temperature performance such as refractory brick lining strength. In particular, the surface of the lattice brick is slagglified to form glass, which greatly reduces its heat exchange capacity.
(3) mechanical erosion and wear
It mainly refers to the strong impact and abrasion of high temperature combustion waste gas and blast on the surface of brick lining. Especially for the lower partition wall of combustion chamber of internal combustion hot blast stove, because of the impact of combustion high temperature air flow, vibration occurs, which makes the lower partition wall of combustion chamber crack, fall off and short circuit.
(4) creep deformation.
At present, the research results of hot blast stove damage show that the creep of refractory masonry under the action of high temperature and high pressure is an important reason for the damage of refractory bricks used in hot blast stove.
